A beautiful folk hero of her native France, Laetitia Casta's
curvaceous figure is featured as the bust of Marianne, a symbol of
the French Republic, which stands outside every French town hall.
The supermodel is down to Earth and funny, once even joking in an
interview with Elle magazine that "I tell people that my breasts are
"Made in Normandy," from butter and creme fraîche!""
Laetitia
Casta was born in Pont-Audemer, France on May 11, 1978 to Line Blin
originally from Normandy, and father Dominique Casta, who came from
Corsica. She is the middle child, with an older brother, Jean-Baptiste,
and a younger sister, Marie-Ange. She admits to having been quite
the daydreamer in her school-age years, and loved writing and
drawing. Although you would never know it now, she always felt
awkward and shy around boys.
Laetitia's luck with males would change, however, when
her stunning looks, light brown hair, and blue eyes caught the attention of
a photographer during a family vacation in her father's native Corsica when
she was only fifteen years old (back in 1993). He persuaded her father to
take her to a photo shoot in France, and the rest is history.
Laetitia's career extended beyond modeling when she starred in the movie
Astérix et Obélix contre César in 1999. She has since starred in six other
movies or television series, including Gitano in 2000 and Luisa Sanfelice in
2004. She took her career even further in 2004, scoring a theater role in
the play Ondine by Giraudoux at the Theatre Antoine. Laetitia has also
branched out to perform in the music video for the Chris Isaak song "Baby
Did A Bad, Bad Thing".
Even more impressive may be her autobiography, Laetitia
Casta, which was co-written with Christopher Heath and was released in
hardcover in 1999 in the United States. The book features gorgeous photos of
the scantily clad face of L'Oreal as well as personal essays detailing
Laetitia's point of views on life.
Laetitia can also add "mother" to her list of
accomplishments, as she is the mother of a beautiful daughter named Sahteene
Sednaoui (born October 19, 2001) from her relationship with fashion
photographer Stephane Sednaoui. She has a wide range of hobbies which
include a brown belt in judo, go-cart racing, roller blading, traveling,
cooking with her mom, going to the cinema, dancing, painting and writing.
The supermodel also reports that she never smokes, drinks, or stays out
late; these efforts are all to maintain her curvaceous figure and prolong
her modeling career.
With three years running in the Sport's Illustrated
Swimsuit Edition as well as hundreds of covers and shoots, it would seem
that this beautiful brunette has little to worry about when it comes to the
future of her career. Laetitia's net worth is estimated at around $5 million
- a sum that looks almost as good as she herself does.
Despite immense fame, an amazing body, and a world wide following, Laetitia
is a down home girl who dreams of eventually getting married and raising her
family. She has been heard to say that she loves animals, and would like to
raise many. In the mean time, her scantily clad figure appears everywhere
from Victoria's Secret ads to diamond studded billboards all over the world
and her career is as hot as she is.
